The Inspiring Life of Irrfan Khan: He will be truly missed

Irrfan Khan passed away on Wednesday 29 April 2020 due to colon infection. Irrfan khan Death shook the nation badly. He lived a life of 53 years but made a permanent mark on the industry and the hearts of people. Many actors will follow in his footsteps in the coming time. 



The Indian-origin film star has a very humble background. Not only Indian audiences but British audiences also loved the performances of Irrfan khan in movies. Hollywood blockbusters like Hollywood flicks, including Life of Pi, Jurassic World, and Slumdog Millionaire, are some of the outstanding work in which Irrfan is involved. But the journey was never easy for Irrfan, he worked really hard to achieve what he deserved. 

As a kid, he always wanted to become a cricketer, but with time he shifted his interest towards acting and joined a drama school. From the very beginning, he was aware that this would be a tough fight as show business is not an easy deal. But he didn’t want to be stuck with TV soap operas and wanted something grand which later he received.

He did many small roles in the beginning but his documentary work on footballer Diego Maradonna, and Amy Winehouse, became his biggest break. Next, when he worked again with Asif “The Warrior in India” and this let him slip into the mainstream Bollywood industry. His greatest work is considered to be Maqbool that was an Indian interpretation of Macbeth- a Play by William Shakespeare.

Then, the movie Lunchbox was widely praised by the Indian audience. This romantic arty film was loved due to its concept of the life and relationship of Indian lonely housewife.


Meanwhile, the acclaimed his success in the Anglo-American industry. He banged the industry with a series of noteworthy roles that were loved by the respective audiences. 

Director Michael Winterbottom was the one who selected Irrfan for his movie A Mighty Heart but the  Slumdog Millionaire- directed by Danny Boyle made him famous among masses. Hollywood, then started acknowledging the work of Irrfan. The film received not only once but eight Oscars in the line-that further built a strong road of success for Irrfan.

Then we worked in other movies like The Amazing Spider-Man, Life of Pi, Jurassic World, and Inferno. He was not only a good actor but a very amazing person in real life. He was humble, honest yet rebelled towards the orthodox mentality. 

He was first diagnosed with an endocrine tumor, and that’s when his health started to decline. He even jotted all his experience with the disease in an open letter. He stated how life is uncertain and how nothing is permanent.

He always inspired people who know him. Danny Boyle said about the role in Slumdog millionaire: "He has an instinctive way of finding the 'moral center' of any character..."

He is now called as "an actor of silent expressions", and never lived a life for showing off to the world. He has a very simple lifestyle yet very analytic thinking. 

It is said that  "Someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him."
